SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - Cindi Pringle, a 25-year employee at Cal State San Bernardino, has been named associate vice president for development for the university. She'll assume many of the responsibilities held by Vice President of University Advancement Francoise Aylmer, who announced she will be leaving CSUSB in July to accept a similar position at Portland State University.
"Considering her extensive knowledge and experience in a variety of different areas at the university, along with her excellent fundraising success and her strong ties to our community, Cindi is the ideal person for this position," said CSUSB President Albert Karnig. "She has many long and close relationships at the university and throughout the region, and she'll excel in her new role."
Pringle has served as special assistant to the vice president for university advancement since 2005, during which time she helped establish and has overseen the university's Office of Gift and Estate Planning. Since 2006, she has raised nearly $20 million in outright and deferred gifts. A primary component of her responsibilities has been serving as a liaison between University Advancement and the CSUSB Foundation.
During her tenure at CSUSB, Pringle has managed the Office of Public Affairs; served as executive director of the Inland California Television Network, which was an off-campus operation of the university for three years; and coordinated CSUSB's 40th anniversary celebration.
Pringle has an undergraduate degree in mass communications from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and an M.A. in interdisciplinary studies from CSUSB. In 2008, she completed certification in gift planning through the American Institute of Philanthropic Studies for the CSPG accreditation. She is the immediate past president of the Inland Empire Planned Giving Roundtable and a member of the Desert Estate Planning Council.
Pringle has been involved in a number of civic activities, including service on the board of directors for the San Bernardino Area Chamber of Commerce, the San Bernardino City Library Board of Trustees, the Inland Empire Symphony Guild, Santa Claus Incorporated, the Boy Scouts of America, the Foundation for St. Bernardine Medical Center and the former Volunteer Center of San Bernardino. She has been a cable television host on KVCR-TV and Channel 3 in San Bernardino, where she hosted the nationally award-winning program "Job Connection" for five years.
As a member of the national Network for Entrepreneurial Women, Pringle is a co-author of the book,
"Inspiration to Realization: Real Women Reveal Proven Strategies for Personal, Business, Financial and Spiritual Fulfillment," published in 2004.
Her honors include being named Woman of Distinction by The Business Press and the Athena Award from the San Bernardino Area Chamber of Commerce. She also was recognized by The San Bernardino Sun as a Business Up and Comer.
Pringle resides in San Bernardino and has two adult daughters who are alumni of CSUSB. Current pastimes include volunteering for the Mary S. Roberts Pet Adoption Center in Riverside.
