Group of Eight names 2010 European Fellows

Eight early career researchers from Poland, Hungary, Romania, Lithuania and the Czech Republic were today named as the successful Group of Eight European Fellows in 2010. Each fellow will receive benefits worth $20,000 to travel to Australia and work at a Go8 university for up to six months.

“The Go8 European Fellowship scheme recognises the importance of international contacts for early career researchers and plays an important role in building Go8 research partnerships in Europe,” said Go8 Chair, Professor Alan Robson.

“The quality of applications has been consistently outstanding since the scheme was introduced in 2006.”

The Go8 European Fellows for 2010 are:

Dr Magdalena Cuciureanu from Romania who will conduct her Fellowship at the University of Adelaide’s Pathology Department. Her research will focus on acute brain injuries.

Dr Krzysztof Bolejko from Poland who will conduct his Fellowship at the Australian National University in the Centre for Gravitational Physics.
