Sacramento State’s former students are the center of attention throughout April as the University paints the town green for Alumni Month.
The University’s Alumni Association has a number of events lined up to celebrate its alumni and thank them for their support.
Foremost among the festivities is the Distinguished Service Awards at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, April 29, which honors seven alumni for outstanding commitment to Sacramento State.
This year’s honorees are:

Helena Fitch-Snyder ‘73 - Zoologist
Eddie Kho ‘77, MS ‘85 - President, Morton & Pitalo, Inc., engineering firm
Cristina Mendonsa ‘96 - News anchor, KXTV News10-ABC
Michael Reinero ‘87 - Vice president, CFO, Smile Business Products
Holly Tiche ‘89 - President, Placer Ranch
DSA Rising Star Award: Baldwin Chiu ‘98 - Engineer, actor, recording artist

Hornets Dining on the Move: Alumni take to the streets of Midtown Sacramento, enjoying culinary specialties at top eateries, 5:30-8 p.m. Thursday, April 15.
Sac State Serves: Volunteers help clean up creek and river banks in Sacramento, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, April 17.
Capitol Networking Lunch: Alumni who work in and around the capitol gather to have lunch and stay connected, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, April 23.
Sac State Night at the River Cats: Students and alumni attend to celebrate Sacramento State and America’s favorite pastime, 7:05 p.m. Thursday, May 6.
Many Sacramento-area businesses are offering discounts to those who show their Alumni Month card or current membership card.
