Curtin welcomes new Vice-Chancellor
Professor Jeanette Hacket has been appointed Vice-Chancellor of Curtin University of Technology.
Professor Hacket, who was appointed Deputy Vice-Chancellor in 2004, has had an outstanding career as a legal practitioner and as a leader in international education. She has led the University since the previous Vice-Chancellor, Professor Lance Twomey, left in April 2006.
Curtin's recently appointed Chancellor Mr Gordon Martin said he was very pleased that Professor Hacket had been appointed to this highly demanding position.
"I have no doubt that under Professor Hacket’s leadership the University will continue to grow and mature," Mr Martin said.
"Her strategic management skills are vital to the University as it responds to the Federal Government's calls for increased quality and accountability, and a focus on the diversification of Australian universities."
